PPA163

I created this card for my stamp groups to do this month.  It is also for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge for this week.  I did add another neutral color (crumb cake) so I hope that is not a problem.

I have some stampers who are also avid sewers and they went a little crazy when they saw the Six-Sided Sampler set.  I found this card made by Barbara Dykhouse and loved it.  But I needed something a little less feminine.  I changed up a couple of the stamps, the dsp and the colors, but otherwise it is pretty much the same.

PPA140 and Freshly Made #46

Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge and the sketch from  Freshly Made Sketches.  I love this sketch, but have to say the color challenge "challenged" me a bit.  I am fairly happy with the end result, though.

Stamps:  Daydream Medallions, Blessed Mother
Paper:  marina mist, real red, summer starfruit, whisper white
Ink:  real red, summer starfruit
Extras:  dotted scallop ribbon border punch, designer button, floral frames framelits, baker's twine

Thanks for stopping by!

PPA101 and CCMC158

Of the three cards I made today, this one is my husband's favorite.  I rather like it too.

I used the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary and the color challenge from Pals Paper Arts.  It is a very simple card using 2 stamp sets--Bring on the Cake and Circle Circus.  Added a little bit of marina mist ribbon and a circle brad.

PPA100 and Sketch Frenzy Friday

Pals Paper Arts is celebrating their 100th challenge this week.  The challenge is to use your favorite technique.  I never really thought about what my favorite technique is but I do know that I love to watercolor.  So that is what I went with.  I  stamped the bowl of cherries from Cherish Friendship with Stazon onto watercolor paper.  I often use whisper white for my images but watercolor paper really does work better, I think. I use a variety of mediums for watercoloring.  For this card I used watercolor pencils and markers with a blender pen.

The sketch for my card comes from Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Love the simplicity of this sketch.  My dsp is from a retired 6x6 pad.

PPA99 CAS Happy 4th

Pals Paper Arts challenge calls for a CAS with stars.

I layered some real red stripes onto whisper white and layered that onto pacific point.  I ran it through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.  This was my first time trying this technique.  Very nice, but I know to use just a little more glue next time! LOL!

I added some night of navy and a whisper white star with a gold brad at the top left to look like a flag.  I stamped the sentiment from July Fourth onto daffodil delight and punched it out with the curly label punch.

PPA98 and CRU36 Delicate Doilies

Spent the day yesterday with good friends at Amish Country.  Lots of shopping and eating and lots of fun!

I am taking care of 2 challenges at once today with this card.  I used the sketch at Pals Paper Arts and the Color Roundup challenge.  I punched out the lace ribbon border (sneak peek) in old olive and attached it to a card base of daffodil delight.  I stamped a doily from Delicate Doilies in daffodil delight and one in night of navy onto whisper white.  I cut out the center of the navy one and attached it to the daffodil one with a dimensional.  Added a pearl to the cent of the doily.  The image panel was matted with night of navy.  Yellow floss was tied through a navy button and attached to the panel.  The sentiment comes from On Your Birthday.

PPA61 Come to Bethlehem

This simple card was created for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.  I love this stamp and will probably make a lot of Christmas Cards with it.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

PPA54 KISS for guys

This is for today challenge at Pals Paper Arts found here.  The challenge is to make a KISS masculine card.  Well KISS is usually my style anyway so this wasn't too hard for me to do.  Don't you just love this new punch from Stampin' Up?  It is just too darn cute!  I punched from three different colors (early espresso, crumb cake, and very vanilla) and just mixed them up.  I punched the branch from the two-step bird punch in wild wasabi. I glued all the pieces onto marina mist cs and matted it with early espresso.  I mounted the panel onto a wild wasabi card base with dimensionals. The sentiment came from Owl Together Now (retired).

This card was fun to make.  Thanks for looking at it.
