ScrapSketch08

This page uses the Saturday sketch from mydigitalstudio.net. It will be the 2nd page of my 2010 Thanksgiving layout.  I am really having fun creating these pages from a sketch.  This will be another layout that I will save to use again.

Delightful Decorations

I wasn't sure how I felt about this card at first, but now I really like it.  I used Delightful Decorations and my ornament punch to create the ornaments and tied them with retired silver cord.

A Wish for Peace

I chose A Wish for Peace for today's card.  A very simple monochromatic card using soft suede, sahara sand and vanilla.  I just love the little church tucked in among the pines.

Scenic Season

This Scenic Season card was stamped with In Colors, pear pizazz and poppy parade.  I added some nice poppy parade ribbon and glitter brads.  I think this image is not only scenic, but rather serene, also.

Christmas Classics

I CASED this card from page 32 in the 2008 IBC. The image is from Christmas Classics. The only change I made was adding the retired Ski Slope dsp. Everything else is exactly the same as in the catalog. I need to make a lot of cards in a little time and so am going to use some designs in the old catalogs to save me a little time and thought. But I do want to change the cards just a little!

A Christmas Cardinal

I almost forgot to post today.  I have posted every day so far this month and didn't want to miss today.  To save time, I scanned my card instead of photographing it.

I created this card front last year and didn't need to use it.  I layered it on a crumb cake base to use this year.  The image is from the retired A Christmas Cardinal,  not to be confused with A Cardinal Christmas, which is still available to purchase.  I watercolored the image and matted it with real red.  I layered it onto always artichoke and added some real red ribbon.

Christ Is Born

I have wanted this set for a long time and finally broke down and bought it.  The images are from Christ Is Born.  The image panel is mounted on certainly celery dsp (retired) and then on Cherry Cobbler base.  The ribbon is non SU.

Cute Christmas Trees

These little trees are from A Cute Christmas. The image was stamped in black with just a little color added. The bottom of the panel is covered in silver glass glitter, then mounted on a real red mat. Then both panels are mounted on a piece of Candy Cane Christmas dsp.  The base card is baja breeze.  The button is from the Candy Cane collection.

Contempo Christmas

So simple....yet it doesn't really look it.  Image and sentiment from Contempo Christmas were stamped in versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I ruffled some gold waffle paper strips around the edges of the panel. I used some Jolly Holiday dsp on an old olive base.  As I said...so simple.  But I think it looks rather elegant.

Northern Hearts

I really like the sweet images from Northern Hearts. This birds and vine image seems to have a Pennsylvania Dutch feel to it. It was colored with markers and stamped onto a very vanilla oval, then matted with always artichoke. I put a pearl in the middle of the little star-like part. The sentiment is from Welcome Christmas. I used some Deck the Halls dsp.

Punched Turkey

Tom Turkey was created with circle and scalloped circle punches.  Oh, and the snowflake punch for his legs.  His beak was hand cut and his waddle was snipped from a scalloped circle punched piece.  His beady little eyes are rhinestones colored with a black sharpie marker.  I think he is a little cutie!

Thanks for looking!

Edited to add:  The sentiment is from Harvest Home.

ScrapSketch06

Here is my layout for mydigitalstudio.net sketch.  I chose a photo of our daughters (along with husband and boyfriend) with their grandmother.  When I scrapbook in the traditional way I hardly ever use just one photo on a page.  I usually have so many photos and it would take up way to much space to use only one.  But with My Digital Studio, I can do more of these pages.  I plan to put them all on a DVD for our daughters so I don't need to worry so much about space!

Edited:  I just realized after I published that I didn't put drop shadows on my page.  Bummer!

Another one from Jolly Old St. Nick

Don't you just love this little snowman?  I think he is so cute.  He comes from the Jolly Old St. Nick set. The image is colored with markers and then I added some light blue non SU glitter.  Lots of snowflakes flying all around him.

I used some of the In Colors to make this simple little card.  The images and sentiment are from A Peaceful Season.  It is matted with poppy parade and then put on a background of pear pizazz.

Jolly Old St. Nick 2

Looks like Santa has a big load of goodies!  This is one of the images from Jolly Old St. Nick.  The sentiment is from another set, but I can't remember which one right now.  I will have to go downstairs and check that out.

A Peaceful Season

All my cards lately have been very simple!  That is a style I really love.  Today's card was stamped with image and sentiment from A Peaceful Season.  The holly in the lower left was cut out and attached with dimensionals. It is matted with real red dsp.

Jolly Old Saint Nick

This is another card I made Saturday.  I just love this santa image from Jolly Old Saint Nick.  I watercolored the image with markers and blender pen.  I added some white glitter to the shading on his beard and hat.  I used the sparkly dsp, Candy Cane Christmas. He really does look quite jolly!

I made this layout for the sketch at My Digital Studio. There have been some really great sketches on that site. And, with MDS, I can save these layouts and use them again.  How cool is that!?

Fireside Christmas

I found time to create a couple of cards today.  I love this beautiful fireplace image found in Fireside Christmas.  The sentiment came from the same set.  I watercolored the image with my blender pens and inkpads.  I have plenty of ruby red (retired) left and I love it for Christmas cards.  I have been using it a lot lately it seems. I matted the image with garden green.

I had a helper as I stamped today!

But he got tired and decided to take a nap in the sun!

I can't leave out my little girl. She was laying in the sun right beside my table as I worked.

Both of them like to be in the Craft Room when I am in there.

Hello Baby

I needed a quick baby card for my neighbor.  This is what I came up with.  I stamped the giraffe from Fox and Friends.  The sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I got my Nook today and now I am going to read a NookBook!  Thanks for taking a look!

Christmas Collage

Here is a card as promised!  I stamped the Christmas Collage in soft suede onto whisper white.  I watercolored parts of the image with blender pens and watercolor crayons.  I stamped the 25 onto the retired ruby red and punched it out and put it on dimensionals.  I made a bow with the artichoke seam binding.  I cut a slit in the image panel to slide my ribbon through.  I like the way this card turned out.

Sorry!

Sorry to say that I have no card to show tonight.  Had a stamping group here this evening and right now I am just too tired to search for an older card.  It was a long day at school.  The students were pretty excited for their long weekend, so it was like a Friday.

I promise I will have something new to show you tomorrow.

Thanks for understanding!

Awash with Flowers

No time to make a card today, so I thought I would share one the group made back in May, before I began blogging.  Stamped the image from Awash with Flowers onto black cs with whisper white ink and colored with colored pencils, then outlined with white gel pen.
I have another group tomorrow night so probably won't have time to make a card tomorrow either.  Maybe I can find another older card to show.

A Cardinal Christmas

I made this card front last year, but never finished it. Found it the other day and decided to put it together. I love this image from A Cardinal Christmas. I added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, then spritzed it with some shimmer paint mixed with alcohol. Hope you enjoy it!

Paisley Prints

I stamped the pumpkin and verse several days ago and couldn't come up with a card for it.  This idea came to me yesterday, so I went with it.  Very simple!  I used the rock and roll technique on the pumpkin with pumpkin pie and cajun craze.  I distressed the edges of the pumpkin pie panel.  The leaf is stamped on cajun craze with soft suede.

To You and Yours

Yes, it's another quick and simple card.  On week nights that is about all I have time for.  But it is my favorite style, also.  I used To You and Yours (retired) and the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  I added some glitter to the swirls on the dove.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo.

Yuletide Christmas

Another quick card today. I used the retired Yuletide Christmas and the holly wheel. I bought this set last year and I think this is the first time I have used it. I love the vintage look of the images but smaller stamps seem to be harder for me to use. If I'd had more time, I would have colored the wreath with markers so the berries would have been red, but... maybe another time

Oops!!!

Well...I was supposed to have a card today, but when I went to set up the schedule for the blog to post today, I messed up on it and it went out last night.  So this post will have to be my one for today.  No card (sorry!) as I didn't have time last night to make another one.  Will make one after school today for tomorrow's post.  See ya later.

Welcome Wreath

Welcome Christmas has several wonderful old-timey images. Perfect for vintage cards, but also with the Candy Cane Christmas DSP that I chose to use.  The little ribbon bow on the wreath was attached with a rhinestone brad.

Berry Christmas!

I accepted a challenge to try to post to my blog every day during November.  So far, so good! It will definitely be a challenge for me, but I promise to give it my best shot.

Today's card is for the Fall To Layout 114 on the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  I used the retired Berry Christmas set.  I love simple layouts but I struggle with one layer cards, so I matted my image and adhered it to a card base.

Tags Til Christmas

I love this ornament from Tags Til Christmas. I stamped it twice on Cherry Cobbler cs, then punched it out with the ornament punch.  I used the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I added a pearl to the center of each ornament.  Tied a bow around the top with retired gold cord. All elements are on dimensionals. The DSP is Jolly Holiday.

Wedding Card

My husband needed a wedding card for a co-worker.  I used Wedding Sweet to stamp the background and To Have and To Hold for the image and sentiment. I embossed the image and sentiment with gold embossing powder.  I used retired Handsome Hunter and Mellow Moss cardstock.  The ribbon is non-SU.

Just Believe

Trying out my new distressing kit.  Not too sure I am very pleased with it.  I think the distressing is just a little too dark.  Will need to play around with it a little more. I do love the Just Believe stamp set.

Paisley Trees

I made a card today using my new Paisley Prints.  I stamped the 2 background trees in Pear Pizzazz and stamped the other tree in Old Olive on another piece of cardstock. I cut it out and put it up on dimensionals. I embossed the retired Ruby Red with the square lattice embossing folder. I added some Pear Pizzazz ribbon and sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Boys & Trains!

My neighbor needed a birthday card for her great-grandson who loves trains.  I used the little train from Who's Your Valentine? I used bright colors and I embossed the circle with the square lattice embossing folder for some texture.

My Digital Studio sketch

I made this layout using a sketch at My Digital Studio website. The photos were actually taken in April 2009. Digital scrapbooking is so much fun and I don't have a lot of stuff to put away after I finish a layout. Oops! Guess I am telling how lazy I am.  LOL

Flight of the Butterfly

I haven't used this set very much and decided it needed a little ink. Created my own background paper with stamps from the Flight of the Butterfly set. I stamped melon mambo cardstock with elegant eggplant and punched out with the butterfly punch. Added some bling with Stampin' Up rhinestones on the body of butterfly and rhinestone brad on the ribbon.

Birthday card for Son-in-Law

I made this for my son-in-law's birthday early this month.  He really seemed to like it.  He told me Fall is his favorite season and also that they used to have pheasants on their farm when he was younger.  I have to say it is one of my favorites of the cards that I have made lately.

October group card #3

I had a hard time deciding whether to use Day of Gratitude or French Foliage.  Day of Gratitude won out.  I really love this beautiful Autumn Spice Specialty DSP.  Wonderful texture and heavy weight make it a nice paper to work with.  And the coordinating colors are yummy!

October group card #2

I had planned on sponging around the edges of the very vanilla panels, but forgot until after I had them glued down.  Later I decided that the paper was muted enough and that I rather liked the unsponged look.
