Birthday card for Son-in-Law

I made this for my son-in-law's birthday early this month.  He really seemed to like it.  He told me Fall is his favorite season and also that they used to have pheasants on their farm when he was younger.  I have to say it is one of my favorites of the cards that I have made lately.

Sneak Peak!

Here is another card I made yesterday.  I used a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers - SC285.  I have not done a sketch in quite a long while, so it was a lot of fun to try one again.  I didn't keep to the square card, but I think it turned out nice.  I used one of the new In Colors, pear pizzazz and a couple of the new colors that used to be In Colors, pacific point and tangerine tango.  I love this combo.  The stamp sets I used, Perfect Punches and Cute by the Inch, are from the new 2010/2011 IBC.  This new catalog and idea book is really great.  One of the best catalogs I have seen from Stampin' Up.  The ribbon is some leftover Mistletoe and goes very well with the pear pizzazz.

Punched Posies Birthday

Saturday is my daughter's birthday!  Her favorite colors are greens and purples (just like mine) and her favorite Stampin' Up color is the soon-to-be retired Orchid Opulence.  So, of course, I had to use those colors for her card. Everything but the eyelets is from Stampin' Up. Here is the recipe for this card:

Stamps:  Punched Posies, Perfect Punches
Paper:  whisper white, orchid opulence
Ink: orchid opulence, elegant eggplant, wild wasabi
Extras:  Vintage wallpaper embossing folder, various punches, wasabi ribbon from when it was an In Color, eyelets

Have a wonderful day!

First Day of Summer Vacation

My last day of school was yesterday. I had planned on sleeping in this morning.  Just until about 7 or 7:30.  Haha!  I woke up at 5:15.  I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't do it.  I guess that is OK since my house is in desperate need of some attention since I have been working 9 1/2 hours a day for the last 3 months.  I will also still be working at my church during the summer and will be going there this afternoon.

Today's card was created using the Stampin' Around Builder Wheels:  Birthday, Posy Party and Candle Crazy.  I used the retiring Cameo Coral and Green Galore ink refills in the Uninked Triple Cell Cartridge.  I layered my stamped image on Green Galore which had been punched with the scalloped border punch, then layered both on Cameo Coral.  Added some sheer ribbon and have a nice, easy card.  Took only minutes to make.

Well, I guess I had better get started on my housework (yuck).  Until next time, have a wonderful day!
